Wine Brownies and Horse Treats Oh My!

Hi everyone! For this blog, we will be exploring a treat recipe and a wine brownie recipe! Let’s start with the horses!

Valentines Day treats

These treats are pretty easy and can be used all year round. They are just shaped into fun Valentine’s Day shapes.

What you need:

  • flour
  • Cinnamon
  • Molasses
  • Mixing bowl
  • Cookie cutting shapes
  • Powdered sugar
  • Water
  • Rolling pin
  • Cookie sheet

  • Two cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 6 ounces of molasses

  • Mix your flour, cinnamon, and molasses. Add the molasses slowly until the mixture is sticky and dough-like.
  • Refrigerate the dough for one hour. This will help with the stickiness, and help make them not crack as much. (I did not refrigerate them as I was short on time, but they come out better)
  • Preheat your oven to 325 degrees (300 degrees in a convection oven)
  • Roll the mixture out using a rolling pin and a bit of flour
  • Cut into your desired shapes
  • Put them onto your cookie sheet
  • Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until they have your horse's favorite texture.
  • Allow cooling then let your horse enjoy!

Optional Directions

  • I like to ice some of them to make them nice and cute! The icing is pretty easy. You combine powdered sugar, water, and food coloring (if you want specific colors).
  • You want to make the icing while the cookies are cooking. Apply the icing once the cookies are cool, then refrigerate them to help the icing set.

    Wine Brownies

My mom absolutely loves when I make these for her as a nice surprise treat. These are super simple as well, and can be made to your liking.

    What you need:

    • Wine
    • Boxed brownie mix
    • The ingredients listed on your brownie mix box
    • Berries (optional)
    • Spatula
    • Baking pan
    • Mixing bowl

    • Follow the directions on the brownie mix container, except instead of water add wine! Super easy!

    Optional Directions:

    • If you would like to add some flare, you can add some cut up berries to add to your mix once it is in your pan.
    • You can make these kid friendly by using a half and half method. Wine does cook out of food, using less will lower the content.
    • You can also make some icing.
      • 8 ounces of cream cheese
      • A bit of Cocoa powder (depending on personal preference)
      • 2 teaspoons of wine (optional)
      • Powdered sugar to get your desired sweetness
    Yummy Brownies

Excuse my Christmas decorations, I don’t want the holiday spirit to end!
These are super easy things you can make to impress your horse and your friends! I want to say a big thank you to my friend Remy who helped me with getting these photos!

I hope you all enjoy them! Let me know if you made them in the comments below!
